“The Subaru Sea Otter Classic will turn 25 next year and the celebrations will take place April 16-19, 2015. The 25th anniversary will feature a roster of time-tested events and activities as well as all the innovative new products that participants go in search of in Sea Otter’s expo.”
Osprey has been attending the Sea Otter Classic for half a decade now and we are thrilled to be attending the 25th Anniversary! This week we packed up the Osprey Packs van and made the trek west from Southwest Colorado to scenic Monterey, California for a weekend filled with top bike industry brands, athletes (all-star and amateur alike) and everything else cycling-related. We’re pretty excited to be en route to the Alpental at Snoqualmie Pass in Washington for Vertfest this weekend, so in order to keep our energy up and our toes tapping we’ve been rocking out to beats from Daydream Vacation and Head Like A Kite. The bands will be performing at Vertfest on Saturday. What’s better than ending a day of skiing with a beer and a dance party? That’s right. Nothing.
But even if you can’t join us for the festivities this weekend, you can still have a dance party… enjoy!
Rios Libres at Mountainfilm: Spoken Word + Multimedia Performance by Craig Childs, Timmy O’Neill + More!
At Mountainfilm? Don’t miss a very special performance tonight by Craig Childs, Timmy O’Neill and others in the Rios Libres crew.
This will be a powerful multi-media performance. Master wilderness story-teller Craig Childs, backed up by an all-star band consisting of the outlandish and legendary Timmy ONeill on drums and others, will be on stage giving the story behind the scenes for Power in the Pristine, taking you on a journey from ice cap to sea in Chilean Patagonia. This source to sea exploration will give the viewer a visceral sense of what it is like to travel on one of the most remote and beautiful free-flowing rivers in the world that is threatened by a mage-hydroelectric project.

At Osprey headquarters in Cortez, CO we strive to reduce our carbon footprint as best we can. One easy way is to drive less. In rural Southwest Colorado, we really only have two options: carpooling in winter months and riding our bikes in the spring, summer and fall seasons. We do have a couple hardy souls that ride during the dead of winter!
We’re curious about our fans who live in urban areas. You have access to a variety of commuting options instead of driving. Light rail, buses, trains, walking, skateboarding, scooters, rollerblades, swimming… all provide alternatives to get to work, to the gym, to the coffee shop, to band practice, to the library. All without driving.
Begin your statement with: “Instead of driving, I…” We’ll pick the top 10 most creative statements and send you a pack of your choice from the Momentum, Metron, Flap, 24/7 or Resource Series. Your statement may even appear (anonymously) in a cool new video we are producing called, you guessed it: “Instead of Driving I…”
Contest ends Monday February 28, 2011. In the event that a requested product is not in stock, Osprey Packs, Inc. reserves the right to substitute a product of equal or greater value. Winners will be picked and notified on March 1, 2011.
