| “One size fits all.” That’s probably something you never thought you’d hear from Osprey, but in this case, it’s a necessary requirement for the product (and an excellent design challenge). The pack has to fit both parents, and it needs to adjust very quickly to accommodate either. | |
| VENTILATION
The trampoline tensioned mesh backpanel will fit anyone’s contours and maintains airflow for excellent ventilation. Soft, supportive shoulder straps have strategically-placed ventilating holes and breathable spacer mesh contact surfaces. |

| TORSO LENGTH ADJUSTMENT
Release the cam buckle in the center of the backpanel and the ventilated shoulder straps are free to glide up and down over a 6” / 15cm adjustment range. The screenprinted scale makes it quick to position accurately. Lock the buckle down and the yoke is fixed securely. It’s the fastest, easiest adjustment system out there. |

| FIT-ON-THE-FLY™ HIPBELT
The fit of the hipbelt is critical to comfortable carry. Remember, kid carriers are often freighting loads that exceed typical backpacking weights. Our design allows the belt to be adjusted while wearing, with pads able to extend 3” / 7.5cm on each side. Simply separate the overlay pad and pull it forward. Press down on the hook and loop fastener to fix the pad in place. This Osprey exclusive design ensures excellent fit and load transfer. |

Oh man. I was just in REI looking at baby haulers. Didn’t find any that really suited me. But these look very nice. It was particularly that they didn’t seem to make switching between parents very straightforward, which this pack seems to have addressed.
If you need beta testers I would be more than happy. My kid is just hitting the lower side of that weight range, I can use it all the way through. Would LOVE to.
These child carriers are fantastic. Once again, Osprey has shown the way a type of product should be designed, when considering what works and what doesn’t. I am looking forward to recieving Poco´s in the shop in early march.
My wife and I are planning a weeklong hike on the Long Trail this June. We are very excited about this new product, in fact we tested it out at REI-Boston yesterday. Parker (our daughter) liked being in it, and we liked its comfort, fit, weight, mesh backpanel, and many pockets. Although my wife plans on being sole daughter-carrier, it’s nice to know we can switch users at the drop of a hat. It’s the most user-friendly torso length adjustment I’ve ever seen (I’ve seen a lot – I actually work at REI part time). Only question we have is do we go with the Premium or the Plus? According to REI’s website, the Premium is 10 oz lighter yet has 11 more Liters of storage space. Can this be true?
I was planning to order a Deuter Kid Comfort 111, then saw the Osprey Poco and now wonder if anyone has compared the two and has imput?
Hi Laurel,
While the Deuter Kid Comfort 111 comes in at the same price as the Osprey Poco Premium ($299), there are a few comfort and performance comparisons that we’d like to draw your attention to. The Osprey Poco weighs nearly 2lbs less (5lbs/14oz compared to 7lb /10oz) and boasts a 34litre capacity (14 litres more than Deuter’s pack) and adjustable hipbelt, zip-off daypack and changing pad that the Deuter does not.
Hope that helps! Please contact our customer service team if you have any other questions at all: 866.284.7830 or cs@ospreypacks.com.
Thanks!
I just wanted to respond to Emily’s post responding to Laurel. Emily states that the Osprey Poco Premium is 2 lbs less than the Deuter III but that is not true. If you compare the specs on REI’s website you can see that the Deuter III weights 6lb. 13oz and the Poco Premium is 7lbs 9oz. Also, while the price is the same – the Deuter comes with a rainfly rather than having to purchase separately. I am still considering the Osprey – but I think the staff at Osprey should at least have the numbers straight. Either that or correct REI if their numbers are off.
Hi folks,
There seems to be a bit of confusion in regard to weights here. They are as follows:
Poco Premium – 7 lbs. 9 ounces
Poco Plus – 6 lbs. 15 ounces
Poco – 6 lbs.
When REI first launched Poco on their site weights were incorrect. We alerted them and they were subsequently corrected.
Also in fairness to Deuter, the Comfort III features a combo sunshade/raincover. We offer a more protective raincover sold seperately that works with the included sunshade on the Poco.
Thanks!
Yes, the Daylite can easily be attached to the Poco and Poco Plus. A Daylite is 13L and the Poco Premium daypack is 11L capacity. Please feel free to call our customer service team with any other questions you may have: 866-284-7830. Thanks
