At Osprey Packs, we value the experiences that being outdoors allows us to have — there is something truly transcendent about being outside, carrying only the belongings in your pack and being able to step back from the daily grind and the inherent distractions of the everyday hustle. Whether it’s a multi-day backpacking trip, international travel, treks to mountainous peaks, a weekend warrior camping trip, a dayhike or the simple enjoyment of the fresh air on a daily bike commute — the act of disconnecting (a.k.a. actually turning your phone all-the-way-off) and taking a break from daily responsibilities (a.k.a. “Grown-Upisms”) is important and far too often, fleeting. Being able to make time to really be in the present and not concern yourself with anything else but your immediate surroundings and well…yourself – it’s rare and beautiful. The outdoors are one such way to get back to what is sacred, that’s why we so fiercely advocate for their protection and conservation.
There are very few experiences in this world that allow for transcendent breaks the way that nature does but listening to music is definitely one of them. For years the Osprey family has bonded over our collective love of music. Our main connection to music stems, first and foremost from being fans but we’ve also been lucky enough to collaborate with talented artists who are themselves fans of Osprey – there’s definitely a mutual respect on both sides relating to our respective commitment to craftsmanship.
We’re proud to have teamed up with some of our favorite musicians to make their travels and adventures on the road easier by providing them with some of our best gear-hauling luggage and packs.
To show their appreciation, some of these musicians have reached out to see how they can provide a similar “ease” by sharing their tunes for our daily adventures. We can’t keep all the good vibes to ourselves and so we’re excited to be sharing #MusicMondays with all of our fans!
If you’ve ever seen Keller Williams perform, then there’s no need for you to read — you’re already familiar with the vibrant energy and exuberant personality that Keller Williams possesses. Keller is one of our favorite artists for those reasons and the undeniable fact that he is one of the most talented guitarists to hit the scene. Furthermore, with Keller you get exactly what you see — a riveting passion for playing music that results in kinetic energy shared by Keller and the audience. That level of authenticity rings true for us at Osprey and we love that Keller’s talent and personality have been responsible for bringing together some incredible musicians for projects like Grateful Grass, Grateful Gospel, Keller and the Keels and many other collaborations. His various Bands projects can lead to some of the greatest live performances of your life, and that same vibrant creative energy, sincerity and skill is ever-present in Keller’s new studio album “Vape”.
When he offered us an exclusive to stream “Vape” on the Osprey Packs website for 24 hours, we jumped at the opportunity to share the creative talent of Keller Williams with you all.
Last but not least, enter to win your own copy of “Vape” (signed by Keller himself) as well as an Osprey Packs FlapJack or FlapJill!

Jam in the Van is one seriously epic road trip, touring from one festival to the next and collaborating with both established and up-and-coming musical talent to provide listeners around the world with original recordings from the world’s first solar-powered “music discovery vehicle.” If you search through the live recordings on Jam in the Van’s website you’ll quickly notice what makes them unique — Jam in the Van shares music by artists whose work spans a variety of genres and whose performances are guaranteed to be entertaining — and each video uploaded by the Jam in the Van crew offers music-lovers the chance to enjoy a live performance by artists recorded inside the “heady” location that is the Jam in the Van mobile studio. As music aficionados ourselves, Osprey Packs is pleased to announce Jam In the Van as our official music partner for the festival season of 2015! Jam in the Van and Osprey Packs will be releasing 2 live performances a month, better known as #MusicMondays, to help you get rid those funky, skunky Monday Blues and hopefully give you a little extra pep in your step!
To kick off this fabulous February, Jam in the Van has introduced us to the 14ers!
The 14ers have a special place in the heart of the Jam in the Van crew being as that they were one of the first artists whose music was recorded recorded in the mobile Jam in the Van studio! We’ve also become quite fond of 14ers because their name represents the highest mountain peaks in our home state of Colorado. As the lead singer Ryan Kirkpatrick puts it, “I don’t care who you are. It doesn’t matter where you come from. I’ve got the altitude…come and get some!” – we can dig and we hope you do too!
Like what you hear? Check out other #MusicMondays from 2014!
Happy Music Monday! This week we’re proud to present some upbeat, fresh tunes from CAROUSEL, an electro-pop duo based in San Francisco, CA.
Jackson Phillips and Kevin Friedman, two Berklee College of Music graduates, create a unique sound that combines the drive of electro with the melodic sensibilities of pop. This Jam In The Van performance was recorded in New Orleans, LA during Jazzfest! We’re thrilled bring you yet another installment of #MusicMondays with Jam In The Van, where music takes a whole new road. The Jam In The Van crew is committed to traveling anywhere accessible by road to find and record intimate musical experiences for their fans.
We hope you enjoy this week’s musical offering from Carousel!
The Jam in the Van crew has made their way over to the world famous New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, a momentous scene—this meeting of jazz and heritage—has stood for decades since as a stirring symbol of the authenticity of the celebration that was destined to become a cultural force. Stay up-to-date on their very latest exploits by following Jam in the Van on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or by subscribing to their YouTube channel.
We can definitely dig what they are laying out in New Orleans and look forward to seeing the Jam in the Van Jazzfest performances online soon! In the meantime, and without further ado, Osprey Packs and Jam in the Van bring to you a session from SXSW 2014 with American Aquarium, a band (like many of their musical heroes that paved the way before them) can wrap some of the ugliest feelings in the most spirited soundscape.
Originating in 2011, Jam in the Van is a motorhome/HD mobile recording studio that travels across the country inviting bands and musicians to capture a 2-3 song live performance which we share exclusively on our website and YouTube channel, boasting more than 15k subscribers. Operating entirely via state-of-the-art solar panels, our intimate sessions and mobility make Jam in the Van one of the fastest growing music discovery series on the internet.
This summer Osprey Packs is teaming up with Jam in the Van, a crew dedicated to providing authentic, original recordings from incredible musicians at some of the most sought-after festivals in the nation.
At Osprey, our love for music is serious — so we are thrilled to have our packs accompany the passionate & committed Jam in the Van team as they combine great artists, live music, festivals and life on the road! While we wish we could be out on the road rocking out, we’re stoked to partner with the #JAMINTHEVAN team and we’ll be sharing fresh Jam in the Van recordings with you every Monday to get your week started off right!
