The Osprey Adventure Envoy Team
The Osprey Adventure Envoys are a team of on-the-ground ambassadors. From the rugged trails of the Continental Divide to the snow-capped peaks of the North Cascades and the bustling streets of Manhattan, these Adventure Envoys will put our packs to the test as they journey, hike and ski their way to new adventures across our planet — sharing stories and protecting wild places as they go.

Evan Stevens
Evan Stevens is a fully certified IFMGA Mountain Guide, examiner and instructor for the AMGA, a member of the AMGA Board of Directors, and owner and lead guide of Valhalla Mountain Touring, a backcountry ski lodge in the Selkirks of British Columbia. Somehow he managed to do all of this whilst only escaping from the suburbs of New York City just 10 years ago. When not on his skis, he can be found climbing hard rock in his summer home of Squamish, BC, or trying to fire off alpine rock free ascents through out the world. Highlights include numerous first descents in the Valhalla Range of BC, traditional rock ascents of up to 5.13, first free ascents in BC such as IV 5.12 Man of Steel in the Adamants, IV 5.12 R Lost in Space on Mt. Gimli, and speed ascents of big walls in Greenland. Besides that he is usually being humbled by his super human wife Jasmin, and trying to keep up to his dog Benny on the skin track.
Sage Clegg
Sage Clegg was born in a little cabin in Northern California, and her parents gave her a trail name before she could walk. In the fall of 2008, after her last summer working for Outward Bound in Montana, Sage wanted to head out on a personal expedition. After thru-hiking the Grand Enchantment Trail from Albuquerque to Phoenix, she set a goal to cover 3,000 miles by her 30th birthday. And that she did. Last summer Sage hiked the Pacific Crest Trail solo and this summer she will set out to hike the Continental Divide Trail and maybe the Mendocino Tahoe trail. When Sage is not out tromping trails she teaches people how to backpack, canoe, and to love living outside, working as an instructor for Outward Bound, UC Santa Cruz, and a handful of other organizations. In her other career as a wildlife biologist she has the opportunity to learn from natures true backpacking gurus, the Mojave Desert Tortoise. She lives out of her Tacoma much like the critters she studies, sleeping beside her skis, wetsuit, and boxes of food, on a pillow of down jackets, dreaming of her next adventure. Her nomadic lifestyle surprises her, but the fantastic freedom of wandering in wild places has become more than just a fling with recreation, it is her way of being.
Jeff Cole
Jeff Cole is an activist and adventurer who ardently believes that one person can make a difference. Fueled by a passion for the environment, Jeff educates and campaigns for endangered salmon and rivers with Idaho Rivers United. After work he recharges by enjoying the places he fights to protect with a bike, boat, skis, or rope. This central Idaho native developed a love of the outdoors early in life as he explored the remote rivers and untamed mountains near his rural home. Leaving those wild places, wild, and letting the species who live there, live there, is the legacy he works to protect every day.
Sam Magro
Sam Magro has used climbing and skiing as a way to get to know what he sees as the most spectacular places on the globe. He has climbed through out the contiguous US, South America, Alaska and Europe focusing traditional rock, ice and alpine routes. He travels often in pursuit of his passions and continues to live, work and play in Bozeman, Mont. He brings food to the table by working as a climbing guide, a photographer and a small business owner.
Mark Jobman
For Mark Jobman, adventure is not just about the buzz, the summits, the tick lists. Adventure can be additive, by adding education and culture to everything that you are doing in the outdoors. Mark believes building stronger relationships, and understanding of landscapes and people are just as important as the adventure itself. Wanting to share his adventure stories and connect with people who share the passion for adventure, Mark started the Adventure Chronicles; an online destination for adventurers, travelers, dreamers and climbers to share their zealousness for adventure with others. This year, Mark is amping up for a of adventures on Mt. Rainier, climbing in the Tetons, Black Hills, Devils Tower and Vedauwoo, backpacking Europe, mountain biking the Dakota 50, and always a beach destination or two in there somewhere.
Julie Schwietert
Julie Schwietert, her husband Francisco Collazo and their daughter Mariel live in New York City. Though they’d like to consider themselves outdoor adventurers, the fact is that they’re hopelessly urban. Their adventures have taken them to Cuba, Colombia, and all over the US. They have lived in Puerto Rico and Mexico.
