What do you love most about travel?

I love the ability we have to just pick up and see something new — new people, places, cultures and experiences. Even just a short trip to the next town over can be a great adventure if you are open to new ideas.

2009-2010 travel plans?

A 6-month adventure with my boyfriend to see as much of the world as possible while I take a leave of abscence from my work as a freelance PR consultant — Heading to Europe first in September (visiting a friend in Belgium, going to Oktoberfest, heading for the beaches at Normandy) — Then down into Egypt/Jordan/Isreal for around 3-4 weeks, then down into East/South Africa (Kenya/Tanzania — Safaris, Zanziabr, Mozambique and then South Africa) — probably around 6-8 weeks total — Then off to South East Asia for the remainder of the time — Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia and hopefully Japan!

About me

I’m 37 and have worked for the last 11 years as a freelance PR consultant — Traveling has always been something I’ve enjoyed but really only got hard core about it around 8 years ago, so I’ve been playing catchup! Born & raised in Southern California, attended USC for undergraduate degree and San Diego State University for my Master’s in Communication. No kids, but one large tub of a tabby cat named Bailey who will be bunking with my parents during this adventure.

    Hi Aimee,

you are doing really an interesting trip.
Do you still have the Sojourn with you, I couldn’t see it on the latest photos anymore.
Is the Sojourn comfortable to carry on the back and how long can you carry it comfortably?
I will do an SE Asia trip and not sure yet wether I should buy a normal backpack or the Sojourn. You have the experience so please enligthen me.
Have a good trip and a lot of fun.

    Take care
