Every Monday, we post photos of cool bike lanes around the world. So what happens if a city doesn’t boast bike lanes for its cyclists? The cyclists take matters into their own hands… or wheels as it may be.
Taking their cue from guerilla project in Berlin that utilized unsuspecting cars to paint the busy Rosenthaler Platz, the collective asked bikers to ride through Helsinki after their bike wheels had been coated with paint.
The effect, illustrated by the picture, is not necessarily a true permanent intervention. Rather, it displays a critical mass for those who use and want to use biking as their main form of transportation.
This happened a couple of years ago, but we still thought it was cool.
Have a lane that you love? Send us a photo! You can post it to our Facebook page, shoot us an email at blog[at]ospreypacks[dot]com or upload to our Flickr group and we might just feature it here on our weekly photo feature, Lane Love.
