Sweet Films Coming Up At Mountainfilm in Telluride

Don’t have plans for Memorial Day Weekend yet? Then you might want to consider putting Mountainfilm on your list. The festival, being held May 28th-31st this year, recently announced some of the selected films that will be screening during the epic four days in Telluride, CO. We’re pretty excited about all of them, but here are a couple of our top picks (complete with trailers!).

180° South

Our very own athlete Timmy O’Neill is featured in this incredibly inspiring documentary that follows a return to the route that Yvon Chouinard, Doug Tompkins and Lito Tejada-Flores drove from Ventura, CA to Patagonia to climb a new route on Mt. Fitzroy in 1968.

Ample wild fishing, the Russian backcountry, and beautiful cinematography; what more could you want from a film?

The Cove

The Cove earned honors as the 2010 Oscar for Best Documentary, and with good reason. After showing at last year’s festival, and soon there after becoming a a model for activist documentaries, the team at Mountainfilm decided to bring it back for a second go around.

Want more? Keep an eye on the Mountainfilm blog — they’re posting trailers to some of the selected films every Tuesday and Thursday up until the festival.
